The department offers comprehensive ophthalmic care at the primary and emergency level. It is equipped with all the necessary machineries to diagnose segments. Shortly after department was started; it opened an optical showroom offering all optical services and sale of spectacles and contact lens. Arrangements are in hand to add more equipment to provide much wider case management and surgical facilities in the future.

Furnishing the department with equipment necessary for detailed posterior segment evaluation is also on the cards. The institution aims at having an ophthalmology department offering inpatient and outpatient services for the medical and surgical management of all ophthalmic diseases in the near future.
