FOUR HOSPITALS OF BADR AL SAMAA BAGS PRESTIGIOUS ACHSI ACCREDITATION

Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka, Sohar, Salalah, and Nizwa received the prestigious The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHSI) accreditation.

ACHSI accreditation is an external review of the quality of care and services. It is an internationally recognized evaluation process used to assess and improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare organizations; it is also a way to publicly recognize that a healthcare organization has met the quality standards.

In a joint statement managing directors of Badr Al Samaa group, Abdul Latheef and Dr. P A Mohammed said, "We are highly jubilated by ACHSI accreditation of four of our hospitals with exceptional performance. We strive to introduce and set standards and trends in quality of care and patient safety and hence ensure the highest level of care for our patients. All our hospitals are benchmarked with internationally accredited standards. Our doctors, paramedics, and allied services staff diligently follow the laid policies and protocols to ensure every healthcare function meets the standards. This accreditation has only increased the standards of care, our pricing is still the same and affordable.”

The ACHSI Assessment was based on EQuIP 6 module. The ACHS Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) is based upon principles which support best practice and which are designed to facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. These principles can be applied to all aspects of service within a healthcare organization. There were three Function; Clinical, Support and Corporate, 13 standards and 47 criteria. The ACHSI assessment was done from 16th January till 20th January (5) Days by 9 assessors. Onsite Assessors were Dr Mohammed Ahmed Garout, Dr Aliah Abdulghaffar, Dr Gurjit Singh Monga and Timothy Gardner and virtual Assessors were Vince Gaglioti, Mary-Jane Emmerton, Natalie Lloyd, Virginia Morris and Claudine El araybi.

The assessment process of this accreditation was led by respective branch heads of these four hospitals with the support of Medical Director, Nursing Director, Quality Assurance and administrative team; Shamnath Aman in Barka, Manoj Kumar in Sohar, Abdul Azeez in Salalah and Maneesh Raghavan in Nizwa.
