BADR AL SAMAA CELEBRATED MOTHERHOOD DAY IN A GRAND CELEBRATION EVENT

On the Occasion of Mother’s Day, Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals celebrated motherhood in a grand celebration event. The event was supported by Oman Women Association and was attended by its President, Ms. Eman Bint Rashid Al Ghafri. Around 200 Omani Women participated in the event. These women mostly included those mothers who had given birth to their babies in Badr Al Samaa Hospital Ruwi and Al Khoud.The idea behind was to rejoice those happy moments and cherish them again with the mothers. The event was attended by Managing Directors of Badr Al Samaa Group, Dr. V T Vinod and Mr. Abdul Latheef, Senior Management, All Gynaecologists of Badr Al Samaa Hospital Ruwi and Al Khoud and strong representation of prominent media houses. It was successfully coordinated by Omani staff of Badr Al Samaa Group.   

The event started with a welcome speech given by Ms. Mariya Said Ali Al Rubiai who welcomed all esteemed guests and briefed about the essence of motherhood, she anchored the whole event as well. This was soon followed up by Tilawat-e-Quran by Ms. Bakheta Said Al Alawi. The team of gynaecologists welcomed the chief guest of the event by presenting her a bouquet of flowers. Two audio-visual presentations prepared by the nationals describing different stages in women’s life and  how Omani women have transformed and are leading from the front in areas like Science & Technology, Sports, Education and Medicine. The presentations were well appreciated by everyone present.  Poetry on Motherhood was presented by Ms. Marwa Said Mohammed Al Furqani. Ms. Sanaa Issa Al Hadi coordinated the event.

Speaking on this occasion Dr. V T Vinod said, “In almost 4 decades of my journey it is very satisfying to see that I have witnessed the transformation and development of Omani women, especially mothers. More and more women are getting educated, opting for challenging professions, participating in sports on international level, and leaving no profession untouched”. Mr. Abdul Latheef giving a reference to teachings in Islam explained the importance and the stature which a mother holds. He said at Badr Al Samaa we take utmost care of expectant mothers right from confirming the pregnancy till the delivery and beyond.

Ms. Eman Bint Rashid Al Ghafri, speaking on this occasion said, “Now-a-days mother’s day celebration are not just about sentimental celebrations but we celebrate the achievement and involvement of mothers and in that perspective it is a symbolic day.”

The main highlights of the event were the health awareness talks related to woman health. Dr. Fadwa Richi, Specialist Gynaecologist, Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Al Khoud spoke on pre-pregnancy planning, pregnancy and post delivery care. While as Dr. Rulla Drgham Specialist Gynaecologist, Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka spoke on general women’s health and importance of regular screening. She also spoke on breast and cancer screening. Both the sessions were followed by interaction with mothers and quiz in which four winners were selected and they were felicitated with gifts by the chief guest.

Dr. Tahira Kazmi, who is joining Badr Al Samaa Group as a consultant gynaecologist was given a warm welcome to Badr Al Samaa family in the event. She introduced herself to everyone present and was felicitated by the chief guest.

Special Maternity and Antenatal Program was launched in the event. The program assures special services to the expectant mothers during pregnancy and delivery. The program incorporates many essential allied services, provides goodybags for mother and child along with delivery program. The program will be provided with huge discounts for limited period.  

Ms. Gadeer Al Bahrani in the closing note thanked everyone for overwhelming participation in the event.
